Understanding Your Home's Sources of EMF
Case Example With a Focus on Radio-frequencies, SMART technology and WiFi
Sources of electromagnetic fields (EMF), especially radio-frequencies can add up quickly. We can unknowingly be getting exposures in our home and from sources that we don’t even use. EMF can contribute to insomnia, brain fog, fatigue, addictive tendencies, depressed mood and anxiety. In this weekend’s newsletter, I’ll discuss how EMF impacts the brain.
Below, I’ll walk you through the layers of EMF (specifically radio-frequencies) using the home in Florida we lived in (2020-2021), and where my daughter and I developed “EHS” or electromagnetic hypersensitivity. I likely had a degree of EHS prior to living in this house, but it definitely took it to greater heights. Once someone develops EHS, part of the treatment is lowering exposure as much as possible for a sustained period to allow their reactivity to lessen.
Like many who have had mold toxicity, we sought out a newer house hoping there would be less chance of water damage, and thus mold exposure. With a new house, however, came new technology.
Below, I’ll walk you through the way EMF sources (specifically radio-frequencies) came into this house. I hope this helps you consider sources in your own home.
The modem (which brings internet access from the internet provider) was in a cabinet in the laundry room wall. It was connected to a router from the internet company and provided WiFi, or wireless internet access, throughout the house.
Unbeknownst to us, the router was also communicating with a booster on the ceiling in the living area. I wondered what that box was. The intention of this was to give a stronger signal at further distances. As you can see, the radio frequencies are already high, but boosters amplify them much more.
