engaging & accessible
I’ve stepped back these last few months to consider how I might make the information I share more engaging and accessible. I’ve thought a lot about what I needed when I was at the height (or rather depth) of my own illness. At that time, I couldn’t retain a paragraph I’d just read - however useful it seemed - before it slipped away.
When I was trying to make sense of what was happening to me, I would have loved more brevity, more visuals, more humanity and even a little levity. It was about then that I started making art; something that actually came with some ease.
Over time, by addressing a number of my own root causes, my comprehension, along with many symptoms, improved. Eventually, I was writing and podcasting the very kind of long-form content that could not have stuck for me, until I started to improve.
While I feel good about those comprehensive deep dives into root causes, which will continue to be available, I look forward to sharing new information in new ways. I look forward to sharing updates on relevant research, testing and treatment. I look forward to sharing insights about my own healing journey. And, I look forward to further excavating that part of me that is more visual, more creative - “more right brain"….not only to help make complex topics stick (and spread), but to make sharing information more enjoyable and sustainable for me. This will be in the form of a weekly newsletter that will land in your mailbox on Saturday mornings.
a new space
My other goal has been to provide an option that allows for more engagement, Q&A’s, showing aspects of my work, and community. I wanted to create an online space, independent from typical social media outlets, that is both informative and comforting; a space that balances both a right and left brain approach to healing; a space I would have liked for myself…and would still like. The actual location for this will be on Substack (linked to these newsletters, my website or directly).
To make this later goal possible, I’ll be offering…..
